Okay. South Park may be my favourite show, but The Simpsons is my second favourite show, and it's there close enough that South Park just narrowly beats it out. This doesn't change the fact that Bart is my favourite cartoon character ever.
So, uh, I wanna draw a bit of Simpsons fanart, too. Problem is, I've found that, because of yellow skin (and particularly on Bart, Lisa, and Maggie, what with the hair and all), Simpsons fanart drawn out in a different style tends to look... odd and/or bad. Which means I have to learn to draw Simpsons-styled in order to be able to draw non-suck fanart of them. But see, I have never been able to copy a style completely, ever. My own style always leaks through a bit. D:
Which is why I'm pretty freakin' happy with this here. I don't see any really glaring errors with trying to copy the style. |D Now I just have to work on some other pictures in hope that this wasn't a fluke, and learn how to do other characters, too. Just because Bart is my faaaaavourite doesn't mean that I don't like the rest. I just... prefer him. XD
Doodled in Paint while watching random episodes (I'm a couple of seasons away from getting all of them watched, whoohoo!), and I was colouring it in Paint too, but the eraser is too blocky and it looked bad, so I did it via Photoshop and a nice, smooth brush. I wanted messy colouring. It's a messy sketch. It's deserving of all messy. :| his spikes are such a bitch to draw, NINE SPIKES, NIIINE, and then they won't FIT, aaagh
So yeah - expect both South Park and Simpsons fanart from me, because I wubbles them both.
Whoa, that looks amazing! Pretty damn near perfection, if you ask me.
I haven't watched the Simpsons in awhile and this makes me want to start again. XD
Again, excellent work! I look forward to seeing the other characters. <3

I have no idea what to put in my signature at the moment. D:
Question-- did you color it first, then ink in the outlines?
I don't really see any conspicuous errors in this one, and it was nice that you added your own style to a piece of Simpsons fanart. You're right-- it is difficult to envision them in any other style!
The outline came first. That's why I had to try colouring with the eraser in Paint, so that it would go under the black lines, but it was too blocky and nasty so I switched over to Photoshop.
*snort* Might want to take a look at your own image, the coloring is... messy, out of the lines. Unless if that was your intention. *confused* You might want to put a layer under Bart (have I mentioned I haven't watched The Simpsons in months now?) and fill it in since dA has a problem with PNGs and transparency.
Otherwise, it looks a lot like the style from the show. *nods* Excellent work.
Well, don't you think something so obvious as that would have been mentioned in there? You always bitch about minor things yourself. Kinda hypocritical, eh?

And, yes, Paint is not the best place for soft brush (or eraser) outlines.
