Man, I forget how long this has been sitting around. I'm sure I watched some heartfelt Lisa episode before doodling this out, but I can't remember which one.

Biggest time wasters: Lisa's hair took me ages, when I got the sketch done the background took a few weeks because I was really lazy and didn't know what to do, and then when I figured out what to do I got it done in a day, on-and-off. And then I put off shading Lisa until tonight, where I just completed that in less than an hour.

Decided to take the lines off the background because it looked horrible, but kept them on Lisa for a bit more definition... Also I didn't want to have to go over and refine Lisa like I did with the background. That would've sucked massive.

Hoorah.

yayLisa. and I love the colours in the background, those blues and greens are really soothing and give the impression of nighttime and (literal) coolness.

critwise, since you asked for them, I'd say position those trees a little differently - you've got them nearly on top of each other so they almost look like one tree. maybe move one a little to the right or the left - though you do have got a very cool angle on those branches on the front tree though. :) oh - little tip I learnt from layout class - make the back on the back tree more indistinct and blurry, and maybe even make the colours more blue so it looks further behind.

Since she's sitting on the grass, maybe have some blades come up in front of her so it adds an extra layer and ties her into the background more.

but yes, I really like it. I always enjoy the colours on your pictures. :D

eeee yay I am glad I was of some help. :D I'm taking a layout/composition class this semester so I actually notice more things like that, it's been really helpful to me too. :)
